The Grassland Cap
Cheap Hat, Done Right
The gas-station cap is an American art form nobody meant to invent. Wire rack by the register, clip-art animal, a state name in a font that fought the arch and lost. We have a lot of affection for those hats and absolutely none for how they were made.
So the Grassland Cap is that hat, taken seriously. Same arched lettering, same skull dead centre — drawn properly this time, stitched properly, on warm walnut cotton that gets better the more you wear it. The animal is the point: a bovine skull, the oldest shorthand there is for cattle country and open range across Montana and Wyoming, long before anyone put a highway through it. Cheap hat energy, done right.
